LinkedIn may never be as big as Facebook, but the social network for professionals continues growing at a steady pace.
Deep Nishar, the Senior Vice President of Products and User Experience, announced on Friday that the site now has more than 300 million members around the world. A little over a third of this number can be found in the United States alone. There are 9 million users in Canada, 16 million in Brazil, and 65 million in Europe.
According to Nishar, the biggest landmark is yet to come. Later this year, we can expect mobile traffic to account for more than half of all global traffic.
Already, our members in dozens of locations including Costa Rica, Malaysia, Singapore, Sweden, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, use LinkedIn more on their mobile devices than on their desktop computers. Every day we see an average of 15 million profile views, 1.45 million job views and 44,000 job applications in over 200 countries through mobile.
