Google Voice Search Hotword

If you think that you just need a smartphone to make voice queries on Google Search, you’ve got it all wrong.

Google Voice Search Hotword is a Chrome extension that allows you to speak to your computer. All you have to do is say “Ok Google” and then ask whatever you want.

After installing the extension in your browser, click “agree” to give it permission to use your microphone. You will then be redirected to the Google Voice Search Hotword (Beta) Settings page, which gives you more information about the way things work.

The next time you visit Google.com, the following will appear in the search box:

Ok Google

If the microphone icon looks different, just click it to turn it on.

Note that Google Voice Search Hotword only works in English.

Have fun!
