Everyone talks about ROI all the time that the word has gotten clichéd and perhaps may have lost its meaning. Only very few talk about the quintessential part of the mix – The People. For without people there can be no business. The Little Big eBook on Social Media Audience: Build Yours, Keep It, and Win revolves around this important aspect of Social Media.
Instead of making it as boring as an eBook, Cendrine has made it as interesting and conversational as a novel. The book is so lively and personal and she has managed to keep it that way from page one through to the last page. Cendrine – like a Narrator takes you on an interesting journey filled with rich examples, case studies, snippets from her own life, lessons she learnt as a Social Media Author and Coach etc. The best part is that she included live links to all case studies mentioned in her eBook for further detailed reference. Besides, she has also included links to some really awesome free tools to manage social media effectively.
This Ebook is a treasure trove of information and filled with practical, effective advice that everyone must know and follow.
I just finished reading an early release of Cendrine Marrouat’s eBook, The Little Big eBook on Social Media Audiences and oh how I love this book!
The Little Big eBook on Social Media Audiences: Build Yours, Keep it and Win is a spot-on “how-to-get-started-now” practical guide for anyone trying to understand how to use Social Media to find your audience and build community.
Cendrine brilliantly combines her talents as journalist and seasoned writer to distill her experience and time-proven methods into a helpful 47 page handbook filled with clear, concise applicable guidance and tips.
There’s a lot to love in this book, but here’s what stands out to make this book exceptionally valuable:
- There is no “arm chair consulting” happening here. For every “Why” in the book, Cendrine follows up with a time-proven “How” tactic highlighting the failure or success of the topic she is covering.
All knowledge and insight shared comes from her hands-on experience with her clients or trial, error and success in building her own community. Although tools are mentioned, there is equal time spent on covering communication, customer empathy and content.
It’s written true to her online-self and voice: warm, generous, inviting, sprinkled with a nice sense of humor and, most importantly, written with the reader’s best interest in mind.
The Little Big eBook on Social Media Audiences is the perfect compliment to Cendrine’s Little Big eBook on Blogging” and is an excellent recommendation for anyone trying to understand what is needed to build a community that will stick with you and grow. It’s an equally valuable guide to understanding where you can improve your own community building efforts.

I was privileged to receive an advanced copy of Cendrine Marrouat’s The Little Big eBook on Social Media Audiences: Build Yours, Keep It, and Win and after reading it, it will now be placed on my “must-read” book list for anyone starting a business or starting social media marketing for their business.
The book is very easy to read, much like her previous e-book, The Little Big eBook on Blogging: 40 Traffic Generation Tips. Her newest offering takes the reader step-by-step through the social media strategy process, giving case studies along the way to support her statements. She touches on everything from figuring out who your audience is to what platforms to use to defining your voice.
Social media can be very overwhelming for someone who is just starting out. With this book, however, they will find it’s not as hard as it seems. Cendrine provides easy steps and gives you questions to consider. She also gives a list of valuable resources to use, so there really isn’t any need to look elsewhere.
Cendrine gets it and the book illustrates beautifully how to use social media. It’s not all about you or your business – it’s about them, your audience.
Some key statements from the book that stood out to me include…
a. “Determining who the members of your audience are is the most important piece in the business puzzle.” (Ch. 1)
b. “Remember that you do not have to be everywhere. Social networking is a time-consuming activity; and trying to cover too much ground is the sure way to fail.” (Ch. 2)
c. “Acknowledging complaints in a timely fashion, avoiding censoring comments, and publishing heartfelt apologies will do more for your brand than you can imagine. And you may actually turn some of the complainers into advocates.” (Ch. 3)

The statement that resonated with me the most is from the conclusion of the book, “Social media is not a numbers game. The size of your audience does not matter. What matters, though, is the people who are part of it.” This sums up the entire book. Your audience are the ones who matter.

I love Cendrine’s no-nonsense writing style and I have found The Little Big eBook on Social Media Audiences refreshing, helpful and full of great practical ideas. To be successful in the social media arena, you have to start with your audience and this book reminds how important that is. It also offers me a great resource I often refer to and keep learning from. Brilliant, I loved it and can’t recommend it highly enough to those new to social media and those who live and breathe social media!
With her latest E-Book release Cendrine Marrouat proves yet again to anyone who uses social media as an everyday part of their daily work and business life that she is truly one of the premiere voices in her field. In this book she picks up where she left off in her previous tome (which I highly recommend you read along with this book on social media audiences, how to find them and also how to keep them) which gave the novice 40 clear cut ways to build up their followers and audience.
Now, although this e-Book called “The Little Big E-Book on Social Media Audiences (Build Yours, Keep it and Win) is pitched at those of us like me who already have years of experience in social media building for our respective endeavors yet still widespread online notoriety eludes us. I know it sure has eluded me on some sites yet not on others. For every success I have found on Stumbleupon and Google +, Cendrine laid out in clear and easy to understand language what exactly I was doing wrong. I am already seeing improvement across my social networks after taking some of her advice.
Cendrine is also a very personable writer with a breezy, humorous and enjoyable writing style that makes you feel like she is standing right there looking over your shoulder as you read the E-book and plan how you can improve your business and its social media success. And if that’s not good enough, apparently she does in person consulting with businesses of all sizes based on their needs. After reading this book, I am seriously thinking of calling her.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this eBook. It offers a sincere testimony on how to approach social media and genuine build from the ground up a community or audience. I particularly enjoyed the research, the case studies, the personal testimonies and how all of this is intertwines with Cendrine’s effective narrative on using the social channels. In addition, the human component or element is something she echoes many times throughput the book. How many times is the human aspect factor into social media? I honestly have not seeing it until I read this fantastic guide.
There are plenty of takeaways and good findings, but do not want to spoil the ending. I highly recommend this book and Cendrine is a true professional in the social media realm and has the evidence to back it up. A must-buy!

In our current mad rush to cash in on the sales and marketing benefits of social media, it’s very easy to forget that shouting out your goods from a virtual market stall simply doesn’t work. As Cendrine Marrout points out in this excellent little book, “it all starts with your audience…” – not by slapping them in the face with sales messages, but by building up a relationship in a considered and caring way that, if it goes well, will lead to sales and extended customer loyalty long term.
Another thing I love about this eBook is that Cendrine uses stories – ergo, case histories – that illustrate the points she makes. But unlike so many authors/bloggers who lean laboriously on case histories to make their points until (frankly) they become boring, Cendrine sprinkles them around into her narrative in a way that sturdily reinforces her points. As a result, they light up brightly and help you understand the point she makes without intruding into your train of thought.
All in all this book is a genuine breath of fresh air in the stuffy atmosphere of me-too books written by social media practitioners who, frankly, have forgotten the most important element of all: people.
Congratulations to Cendrine Marrouat who has given us all a sharp reality check that will make a substantial improvement to anyone’s social media business success.

This Little Big ebook is a powerful and practical guide for all who want to build their social media presence. It is wonderfully written and an super easy, interesting read. The case studies and examples provided are great and will help you get started in building and maintaining a social media audience. I highly recommend this book to anyone who works with online communities and audiences, it is not only for beginners! Congratulations to Cendrine for such magnificent work with this ebook.
Cendrine Marrouat does an excellent job with her second book, The Little Big eBook on Social Media Audiences, because she practices what she preaches and writes directly to her audience. Combining personal stories, and business examples with page after page of excellent resources, she makes the book very accessible. The heart of what she tells us is that people are what count.This quote from the final Chapter says it all. “Social media is not a numbers game. The size of your audience does not matter. What matters though, are the people who are part of it.” Cendrine’s own integrity shines through in every chapter.
The book covers a wide range of aspects of using social media as an entrepreneur. We learn how different social media are best used, by her own experience and that of other small businesses or individuals. e.g. renowned author Margaret Atwood’s Facebook page is about her work, interviews etc, whereas she uses her twitter account to respond to individuals & retweet. (amazing for such an esteemed author I thought)
Cendrine emphasizes that the cornerstone to success with social media, is knowing your audience. So she encourages us to ask questions & listen. Nurture relationships by responding to feedback we receive in whichever relevant social media platform.
There is a fantastic section in which she shares a personal experience of customer service with Dell when her computer was problematic. She managed to directly contact customer service, have the problem both diagnosed, and solved, all through twitter! If we understand what social media can do and listen to our customers needs, as Dell did, then we can build brand loyalty, and a community of advocates.
Each chapter is full of practical advice, with loads of great links embedded in the text, from how to help hone your writing skills and create great headlines, to managing alerts when your name is mentioned across the spectrum of social media.
At the end of the book, Cendrine provides an amazing list of links for the tools, articles & resources mentioned in each chapter. That in itself is totally invaluable. I would highly recommend this book for anyone trying to build an audience with social media. A fantastic resource!
A very interesting read and a gold mine of information. This eBook contain a clear message on how to behave and to address social media. A reading that is well worth the time invested, for anyone who wants to be successful on the web.

I enjoyed reading Cendrine’s book because it comes right to the point. It is stacked full of valuable information from page 1.
Cendrine’s blog is one of my favourites for years and every page of this little big book made me want to comment in applause.
