Social Media – A History: Infographic

A few months ago, I published an infographic that revisited some of the many stepping stones in the history of social media.

Of course, things change fast, and the infographic had to be updated. So here it is, for you. I hope you enjoy it.

Update: There has been a lot of confusion regarding who owns this infographic.

“Social Media – A History” is my property. I did all the research, while my talented friend Karim Benyagoub (@karim_designs) designed it.

I totally agree with this infographic. Social media has evolved a lot and with the internet connection and mobile phones more affordable these days, subscribers are more and more increasing.

Wow! Interesting to know that the first email went out even before I was born ;)
Impressive to also know Facebook has almost half the Internet population. However, that means 3.6 B people are not yet connected to the Internet going by the fact that the world has about 6b people.

Hello Steve! I’m glad you like the infographic.

For some reason, the embed code doesn’t seem to work. I edited it several times, to no avail.

The problem comes from the quotation marks. Try editing the code when embedding on your blog, to see if it works.

      Hello there.

I have no idea why the code is not working. I tried editing it several times, to no avail.

You can place the infographic on your site, but please, make sure you mention my name and the designer’s, as well as link to this page.

      Thanks!

Love this! Using it (with citation) in a presentation for my EdD program – you paint a picture that it very much worth 1000 words :)
