Just a short note to let you know that I am back.
It took much longer than anticipated, but I had very important family affairs to attend to. I won’t share the details with you because I’m a private person. Plus, they are irrelevant to this blog.
With that said, things have changed for me in the last nine months. Since my return to Winnipeg in February, I have taken a long and hard look at my career.
For the longest time, I had wanted to dedicate my time to photography. Working with all sorts of small businesses is a great thing, but I felt the urge to specialize. Based on conversations with trusted peers and friends, it appears obvious that I would thrive and be happier as a social media trainer for photographers. So, this is what I will do from now on.
Now, does it mean that Social Media Slant will disappear? Nope! The focus of the blog is just going to change, with content tailored to photographers big and small. And the quarterly roundup of social media numbers you all enjoy so much will continue.
Also, I decided to close my Facebook account and page. There are three reasons.
1) Too much negativity and aggressiveness.
2) My audience has never really been on Facebook.
3) Followers of my page could not see my posts anymore because of the algorithm.
I still have many photos to process from the last few months, so I will not be able to start writing again right away. But in the meantime, I invite you to check out my photography here.
“See” you soon!
