For the last few weeks, I have been busy preparing the new social media workshops that I will facilitate in September and October. I love teaching those workshops, as they give me the opportunity to talk about the importance of storytelling in the branding process. The conversations often lead to very interesting questions and comments from participants.
I have always believed that the most successful businesses are managed by individuals who are approachable and authentic. These individuals are not afraid of sharing bits and pieces of themselves, and that is what makes them so endearing to their audiences.
Take someone like Ellen DeGeneres, for example. People love her because she does not only let them in on some of her personal experiences, but she also knows how to put others in the limelight. Plus, she does it with a great sense of humor and a lot of compassion.
People love stories. But most importantly, they love stories that they can relate to.
Your story is your brand. So, share it with the world.
It will help establish your unique voice.
It will help people know you better and trust you.
And when people trust a brand, they become its best advocates.
Now, your turn to speak. Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
