Social Media Slant – Social media from a human perspective

5 great social media pros you should follow

The other day, someone asked me to share a list of my favorite social media pros. Since I used to do it on Creative Ramblings, I figured that it would be a good idea to occasionally resurrect this tradition.

Warning: These are not the usual suspects. 😉

Suzan St Maur

Tagline: Business and social media consultant writer, best-selling author

Website: http://howtowritebetter.net/

Twitter: @SuzanStMaur

Google+: https://plus.google.com/+SuzanStMaur

Suzan serves the needs of her audience in two major ways. Her blog is full of great tips on writing well and efficiently. And she sends a bi-monthly newsletter featuring links to amazing articles from other sources.

My favorite thing about Suzan, though, is that she speaks from experience in a no-nonsense manner.

John Thomas

Tagline: Engaging audiences in interesting, intellectual and interactive conversations across social networks

Website: http://thenetworkeronline.wordpress.com/

Twitter: @Blogliterati

Google+: https://google.com/+JohnThomasblogliterati

John is not just a master curator. He has a knack for building successful online communities. His two-year-old Mind Blowing Resources page on Facebook, for example, has more than 53,000 likes.

John also stands out from the rest for his supportive attitude. He is one of the kindest young men I know.

Martin W. Smith

Tagline: Internet Marketer, content curator and writer who loves fishing blue oceans online.

Website: http://www.crowdfunde.com/

Twitter: @ScentTrail

Google+: https://plus.google.com/+MartinWSmith

I hold Martin in high regard for three reasons. 1) He is one of the best curators in the world. 2) Despite his incredible knowledge, he is very humble. 3) He uses social media to make the world a better place.

While many boast that they understand the importance of building relationships with others, only a few actually walk the talk. Martin is one of these few.

Janine Beattie

Tagline: Owner Optimum Business Support and Associate at Women In Business Network (WIBN) – I love a world full of laughter!

Website: http://www.optimumbusinesssupport.co.uk

Twitter: @OptimumBizSup

Google+: https://plus.google.com/+JanineBeattie

Janine is not just a hard-working business owner with an interesting blog. She is all about promoting, supporting, and interacting with others — without asking for anything in return. And for that, she deserves a lot more recognition!

Kelly Hungerford

Tagline: Customer-centric marketer, end-user champion.

Website: http://paper.li/

Twitter: @KDHungerford

Google+: https://plus.google.com/+KellyHungerford

Kelly is one of the most community-oriented people I know. She has a keen understanding of what makes an audience tick, as well as a beautiful spirit.

Actually, I believe that Paper.li would not be the service it is today without her. The weekly Twitter chat that she launched a couple of months ago has been a resounding success!
