Social Media Slant – Social media from a human perspective

5 tools and services that caught my attention this month (February 2015)

Welcome to a new roundup of social media tools and services! This month, let me introduce you to:

  • LikeAlyzer
  • Leaf
  • Qunb
  • SimilarWeb
  • Alternion

Contents

LikeAlyzer

Interested in improving your Facebook page strategy? Try LikeAlyzer.

LikeAlyzer delivers feedback and recommendations based on your page’s activity. For example, you will know if you choose the right timing and length for your posts, how quickly you respond to fans, and the average engagement rate.

Do not use LikeAlyzer just for your page, though. “Spy” on your competition with it…

Leaf

Leaf gives you instant access to important information about any Twitter user, like the average number of daily tweets, daily follower growth, Klout score, RTs received, top topics, hashtags and tweets, and recent mentions.

To use Leaf, you first need to install the Chrome extension. When you visit a Twitter profile, click the Leaf button and sign up for a free account. Every profile is stored in your personal dashboard.

Qunb

Trying to figure out Google Analytics? Let Qunb turn your data into visual and compelling stories.

Clicking a main section will give you access to an interactive report, each of which can be shared, embedded, and/or downloaded as a PDF. You can even edit its title to suit your needs.

The icing on the cake? A weekly digest in your inbox!

SimilarWeb

SimilarWeb is another great analytics tool that works for any website or mobile app. You will get the usual traffic and engagement stats (e.g., top visiting countries, referral / search / social traffic, and audience interests). However, you can compare the site to competitors.

I really like the way the data is displayed and the fact that you can download it as a PDF. There is also a Chrome extension to check websites on the go.

If you use SimilarWeb for your own page, don’t forget to verify it with your Google Analytics account.

Alternion

Here is another gem.

Alternion lets you combine and manage all your social media accounts, emails, contacts, and Twitter DMs in one spot. There are more than 220 platforms to choose from!

With Alternion, you can:

  • Filter your main stream by social network and type of content (status, links, photos, videos, comments, and places)
  • Post to your profiles
  • Share and comment on your friends’ posts
  • Control who sees your updates from each service
  • Explore trending photos and videos beyond your direct network
  • Read and respond to emails and DMs
  • Find new people to connect with

Now, it’s your turn to speak. Do you know a tool or service that you think would fit in my next monthly roundup? Feel free to leave a link in the comment section below or contact me directly. I will have a look for potential inclusion.
